Squid Game Online – How to Survive All 7 Rounds
Squid Game Online is a free browser survival game by Dimofan where 30 players compete through 7 minigames inspired by the show. If you fail any round, Pink Soldiers eliminate you. To win, you must clear every round in order: Red Light, Green Light, Dalgona Candy, Tug of War, Marbles, Glass Stepping Stones, Judgment Night, then the final Squid Game.
Choose your region and nickname, then join a lobby. There is no download – it runs in a desktop browser. Use this guide to learn the exact controls, what to do in each minigame, how to join the same match as friends, and what to do if it lags, reloads, or is blocked at school.
Quick Start: Lobby and Controls
When you load the game, pick the region closest to you, enter a nickname, and join. You will be placed in a public room with up to 30 players. A new match starts automatically when the room fills.
PC controls for this version
- WASD or arrow keys: move
- Space: jump
- Left mouse button: scratch cookie / drag rope / hit in fights
- E: pick up weapon
- G: drop weapon
- T: chat
There is no documented key remapping or gamepad support for this build. Learn the mouse-left-button timing before your first real run, because Dalgona, Tug of War, and the final fight all use it in different ways.
How to Win Each Minigame
Every round has a different fail state. One mistake ends the whole run, so play for survival first, not speed.
| Round | What to do | What gets you eliminated |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Red Light, Green Light | Move only when the doll looks away, stop instantly when it turns | Moving on red, running out of time |
| 2. Dalgona Candy | Scratch slowly and steadily along the shape outline | Scratching too fast and cracking the candy |
| 3. Tug of War | Click fast and with a steady rhythm with your team | Slow or uneven pulling, losing team pull |
| 4. Marbles | Guess odd or even and watch patterns over rounds | Losing all your marbles |
| 5. Glass Stepping Stones | Watch others, remember safe panels, jump deliberately | Jumping on a weak panel, running out of time |
| 6. Judgment Night | Fight and stay alive if more than 2 players remain | Being eliminated in the brawl |
| 7. Squid Game final | Attack, defend, push and time hits on the squid court | Losing the final 1v1 or 1v2 fight |
1. Red Light, Green Light
Move toward the finish line only on green, when the doll has its back turned. Freeze completely on red. Even small steps after it turns can get you eliminated. You have about 100 seconds to finish, so you do not need to sprint the whole way.
Survival tips: take short bursts instead of one long run, stop a little early rather than a little late, avoid bunny-hopping near the line because landing movement can count against you, and keep space from other players so you do not get pushed into moving.
2. Dalgona Candy
You get a honeycomb candy with a shape inside. Hold and move the mouse to scratch out the shape without breaking it. This round punishes speed.
Keep your hand steady, follow the outline in small strokes, and avoid cutting corners or dragging across the middle. If you have a difficult shape, slow down even more on curves and corners. Patience here saves more runs than any trick.
3. Tug of War
Teams pull the rope to drag the other side off the platform. Click quickly and consistently to pull. Wild, uneven clicking is less effective than fast, steady clicking.
Start clicking as soon as the round allows, keep the same pace, and do not stop early to rest. Since it is team-based, every teammate who stops clicking hurts the whole side.
4. Marbles
Played in pairs. Each player has marbles and you win by taking all of your opponent’s marbles through small challenges such as guessing how many they hold or guessing odd or even.
There is no guaranteed read, so do not risk everything on one guess. Mix your own holds so you are less predictable, watch whether your opponent repeats the same choice, and treat it like a short guessing duel rather than a reflex game.
5. Glass Stepping Stones
You must cross a bridge of glass panels before time runs out. Some panels hold weight, others break and drop you. Let other players go first when you can, watch which side they land safely on, and remember the safe path.
Jump deliberately one panel at a time. Rushing and double-jumping leads to mistakes, and waiting until the last seconds forces panic jumps. If you are at the front, pick one side and commit instead of hesitating mid-jump.
6. Judgment Night
This round only happens if more than two players are still alive before the final. Survivors must fight until only two or fewer remain. Grab a weapon if you see one with E, keep moving, and avoid getting cornered by a group.
Do not stand still to chat or celebrate after Glass Bridge. Keep distance, hit and back off, and save health for the final rather than chasing every kill.
7. Squid Game final
The last survivors meet on the squid-shaped court. One side attacks to reach the target area, the other defends and tries to force the attacker out. In the browser version this plays as a close-range push-and-hit fight.
Use E to pick up a weapon when available, time your hits instead of holding the button blindly, and use the edges of the arena to push rather than trading hits in the center. Small sidesteps beat running straight at a ready defender.
How to Play With Friends
This build uses public rooms, not documented private-room codes. You can still land in the same match with friends with this method:
- Agree on the same region and a time to press join together.
- Use distinctive nicknames so you can spot each other in the lobby.
- Join at the same moment and check the player list. If you split, leave and rejoin quickly.
- Use voice chat outside the game to coordinate, especially for Tug of War rhythm and Glass Bridge calls.
Keep in mind you may end up on opposite Tug of War teams or as Marbles opponents. That is normal in this format – plan to outlast each other if you meet early.
Can You Play on Mobile?
This specific Dimofan version is listed as desktop-only browser play. Keyboard and precise mouse scratching for Dalgona matter a lot, so desktop gives the best experience.
Some similarly named squid minigame clones advertise phone support, but they are different games with different controls. If you try this version on a phone or small tablet and movement, scratching, or chat does not work reliably, switch to a laptop or desktop computer instead. No download is required either way – it loads directly in a modern browser.
Unblocked, School, Chromebook and Lag Fixes
The game is free and browser-based with no install, which is why many players look for it on school Chromebooks or library PCs. Availability depends on your network, and some player reports mention reload loops or blocks on filtered networks.
If you are on a school network, first respect your school’s rules and only play during allowed break time. If the page will not load:
- Try a fresh refresh and let the game fully load before clicking join.
- Make sure you selected the closest region – a far region increases lag and disconnects.
- Close extra tabs and videos, since this game shares memory with other tabs.
- Use an updated desktop browser with hardware acceleration on, and avoid power-saver mode on Chromebooks.
- Use a stable Wi-Fi or wired connection instead of a hotspot when possible.
- If one portal is blocked or stuck reloading, try another no-download browser portal that hosts the same version.
For lag during matches: stop other downloads, lower background activity, rejoin a closer region, and avoid spamming jump during Red Light, Green Light. If chat with T stops working or players freeze, leaving and rejoining a fresh lobby is usually faster than waiting.
FAQ
Is Squid Game Online free?
Yes, it is free to play in a desktop browser with no download.
How many players are in a match?
Up to 30 players compete through the same series of rounds.
Why did I skip Judgment Night?
It only triggers when more than two players are alive before the final. With two or fewer survivors, you go straight to the Squid Game final.
Why do I keep failing Dalgona?
Most failures come from scratching too fast or cutting across the shape. Slow, steady strokes along the edge are safer.
Is it safe for younger players?
It has no realistic gore, but the theme is elimination and survival. Parental discretion is advised.
