Supermarket Simulator: Store Manager at a glance
Supermarket Simulator: Store Manager is a first-person 3D browser game from Famobi where you do both jobs yourself: cashier and manager. You walk the aisles, scan items at the till, take cash or card payments, unpack delivery boxes, put products on the correct shelves, and reinvest earnings to unlock more products, improve the store, and hire help.
This page covers the browser edition played with keyboard and mouse. It is different from the paid Steam edition by Nokta Games and from Roblox supermarket games, which have different computers, market-price screens, guards, and controls. Tips below stick to what this HTML5 edition actually asks you to do.
PC controls you will use every shift
You move through the store yourself, so learning the keys early saves a lot of standing stuck at the register.
- WASD to move around the stockroom, shelves, and checkout.
- Mouse to look around and aim at products, customers, and furniture.
- Left click to interact: scan a product, take a payment, pick something up, or confirm a selection.
- E to open or close a box when stocking.
- R to rotate furniture while placing it. In other situations R shows your store reputation.
- Tab to leave or finish an activity, such as stepping away from the checkout.
- Left Shift to sprint between the back room and the till.
- Space to jump.
- P to pause when a rush gets ahead of you.
- X to skip a delivery wait with energy.
- Z to skip a delivery wait by watching an ad.
If you feel frozen at the counter, press Tab to exit the activity, then move with WASD again. On touch screens the same actions use on-screen buttons and taps, which is workable but less precise than mouse and keyboard.
Checkout first: how to scan and take payments
Customers gather fast, and slow checkout hurts satisfaction and reputation. Make the register your priority.
- Watch the line. When shoppers start waiting, return to the register instead of staying in the back sorting boxes.
- Scan each purchase with left click, then process the payment the customer offers, cash or card.
- Keep the flow moving. Finish one shopper fully before wandering off, then sprint back to stocking.
- Check reputation with R. Fast checkouts help it; long waits while you stock drag it down.
You do not need a complicated change-counting routine for this edition. The practical skill is timing: notice the queue early, sprint over with Shift, scan promptly, and only leave the till when the line is clear.
Restocking routine: boxes to shelves without empty aisles
Empty shelves mean missed sales. Use the same simple loop each delivery:
- Collect the delivery from the back area. Boxes arrive for you to unpack.
- Press E to open a box, then carry the goods out to the sales floor.
- Put products where they belong. Matching the correct shelf keeps later trips faster and helps customers find what they want.
- Refill popular items between rushes. Do a quick aisle walk when the register is quiet, then return before the next queue builds.
Do not try to empty every box in one trip during a rush. Stock the best-selling shelf first, serve the checkout, then finish the rest. Keeping the floor organized matters more than carrying a perfect load.
Reputation, deliveries, energy, and ads
Reputation and deliveries are the operational parts new managers miss.
- Reputation: Press R to see where you stand. Quick service and stocked shelves support it; letting people wait while you stay in storage lowers it.
- Sprint matters: Hold Left Shift to cover the distance between stockroom and register quickly.
- Deliveries take time: You can wait, spend energy with X, or watch an ad with Z to get stock sooner.
- Save skips for shortages: Use X or Z when a key product is out during busy hours, not for every box. Energy is better spent early on keeping shelves earning than on routine waits you could plan around.
- Pause to think: Press P to stop the rush for a moment and decide whether checkout, restock, or delivery is most urgent.
Grow the store: products, prices, space, and staff
Once the scan-and-stock loop feels stable, grow gradually instead of expanding all at once.
- Unlock more products as sales increase. Add new lines only when you can keep existing shelves filled.
- Improve and expand the shop step by step. More space helps only if current aisles are consistently busy and stocked.
- Set practical prices. Choose prices that sell steadily and cover costs. If customers complain or sales stall, lower the problem item and test again rather than chasing a fixed formula from a different edition.
- Hire employees when solo play bottlenecks. Staff can share checkout and stocking work so you can focus on ordering, layout, and service. Hire when you repeatedly cannot both man the register and keep shelves full.
- Keep layout simple. Group related products together and keep high-demand items easy to reach. A clear floor speeds up shoppers and your own restock trips.
Where to play, saving, and performance help
This edition is built for quick browser sessions on desktop, Chromebook, tablet, and phone, usually in landscape view.
| Topic | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Unblocked browser play | Free to load with HTML5 and Unity WebGL, with no install. Best controls are WASD plus mouse on a desktop or laptop browser. |
| Mobile browser | Playable on phones and tablets, but touch controls are less precise and 3D graphics can drain battery faster. |
| Save progress | Treat browser sessions as temporary. Browser play generally does not keep long-term progress, while some mobile app versions save but show more ads and purchase issues. |
| Lag | Performance depends on browser, hardware acceleration, and system load. |
For smoother shifts:
- Play in an up-to-date Chrome or Edge with hardware acceleration turned on.
- Close extra tabs and pause heavy extensions before starting.
- Plug in a laptop or Chromebook so it does not throttle on battery.
- Use a smaller browser window during busy rushes if the frame rate drops.
- Pause with P before switching tabs so the rush does not run away from you.
Plan short goals per session because progress may not persist: clear the queue cleanly, keep one popular shelf full, unlock one product, or tidy the layout. That keeps browser play satisfying even without a long-term save.
Quick start checklist
- Move with WASD, look with mouse, sprint with Shift.
- Use left click to scan and take cash or card.
- Open boxes with E and put goods on the correct shelves.
- Return to checkout as soon as a line forms.
- Check reputation with R and use P to pause.
- Skip deliveries with X or Z only for urgent shortages.
- Expand products, space, and staff gradually.
